Charming gestures that won’t break the bank

Romancing someone doesn’t need to be THAT costly.

Let’s say that you after three years of work you were granted a week’s off, which isn’t the best part yet, being that it would be paid as the most most thrilling aspect.  So, what would you do on that precious time with your beloved?  Surely, what would play into mind is to surprise them with the most romantic and heartfelt gestures to make them feel that they are still and will be the most important person in your life.

Hope you can get some ideas on what I’ve come up.

1.  Cook your partner’s favorite dish.

A trip to the supermarket to buy the ingredients will not really cost a lot, won’t it.  Instead of making a reservation at a high-end restaurant, a good meal over dinner with the dish’s aroma filling up the place can definitely make your partner feel your effort, big time.

2.  Rent the movie you watched on your first date.

Reliving your romantic beginnings will be another hit.  Going back to the days when the butterflies are flying in your stomach.  The effort would be so much felt as digging through the oldies is a daunting task.

3.  Make them breakfast.

Waking up to a hearty meal is a sure way to their hearts.  The breakfast doesn’t have to be that grand, just the good old pancake and bacon and eggs that you prepared yourself is the trick.

Surprising your partner with little gestures is probably the best way to show them that we wouldn’t opt for anything during our free time but to be with them.  Even just a simple conversation over coffee on a rainy afternoon will mean more than a costly opera show.  And romancing doesn’t have to cost you a month’s salary, just the simple yet most loving hugs will do the trick.

5 Things You’re Missing Out on Because of Work

Okay. So you’re 24 years old. Got a new job. You’re telling your friends and family, “how, some people just say they love their job, but I really, really, really mean it.” Fast-forward 18 months later: you’re finishing up on a project, then another one appears. A client is hounding you to fix this, or that, while the customer support is ringing off the hook, with a question regarding a problem that isn’t even totally related to whatever you’re doing.

Know what? Walk. Walk out. When you clear your head, you’ll find that, situations tend to clear themselves as well. Any tech guy will know: a little downtime’s required to keep a full uptime. Here are a few reasons to get you off your desk:

  1. Food – Yes. We eat everyday. But simple comforts like eating your favorite ice cream can do wonders for the soul. Remember when you were a kid, and you’d get a scratch, or a bruise, and all it took was an ice cream cone to make it all better? It’s kind of like that.
  2. Travel – Take a week off. There’s a meeting you have to be in? When you don’t show up, there’ll most likely be someone else to do the job for you. Being off-the-grid is a great blessing for the busy-body.
  3. Daytime TV – Or movies, or DVDs, or cable. If you haven’t missed a day of school or work in your life, you’re totally missing out on all the mind-junkfood tv serves up. Plus, your DVD collection won’t be watching itself, you know.
  4. Books – If you can’t afford a vacation, these’ll take you places. A little break from work helps you catch up with your reading.
  5. Sleep – This is just the best. Faking sick? Hah! Take a few days off, just to sleep. To rest. I hated my eyes when I was working long hours and sleeping for 3-4 hours a day. I had a perpetually-tired look that cucumbers-on-the-eyes just can’t fix. A lot of ZZZs = more time for your body to repair itself before it self-destructs.

Do You Want Not One But Two Travel Books for Free?

If you asked me that, I would (100% sure on my decision to) say YES! Who would be so crazy enough not to be enticed with that offer?

Everyone wants freebies. Particularly, in my case, travel book freebies.

I remember that ever since I fell in love with traveling (when I was a mere bashful and more incredulous traveler in those days), there are always two goals that I would spend time in thinking about: One is how to make it a budgeted trip as much as possible. And two is the burning desire to get to know about the place before going there.

These two are essential things for me.

I wouldn’t have the guts to brave it on my own on certain occasions when I had to travel alone had I not thought about these factors beforehand.

I still ponder on these. It’s already a habit that I find most useful.

The idea to make the most of the trip, and still have enough funds left, is mostly the desire of not only me but many who are in love with this type of profession or form of leisure.

What better way to celebrate your trips without having to break your bank account with good reading materials that are merely free for you?

I got a lot of help from these freebies, and I would like to share two of these books to you.
